I founded Horan Building Company in Newport, Rhode Island in 1992, and have enjoyed acting as its president ever since. But my experience spans much further than the past 32 years.

Growing up, each of my six siblings and I spent time working at my father’s residential building company in Cape Cod. I was attracted to the work immediately, and spent my summer vacations and after-school hours developing skills in carpentry, framing, and landscaping. This early exposure to the building trades set the foundation from which I launched HBC – and I still draw on these disciplines today.

In my time as a high-end custom home builder, I’ve made it my personal ambition to remain at the cutting edge of the industry. I am continually educating myself in a variety of cultural aesthetics as well as modernizing the company with advanced, sustainable, efficient, and smart technologies. Home building materials and processes are always evolving, and it’s my job to provide clients with the highest level of industry know-how.

In addition to developing my own knowledge base, I’ve put great effort into hiring the incredible individuals that make up the Horan Team today. Their energy and intelligence have pushed this company to a level of quality, efficiency, and thoroughness I could not have accomplished alone. Together, we are driven by the desire to improve on each project from the last and to perfect our craft.

I am devoted to seeing through each project with the highest standards and expectations, as well as establishing an ever-growing relationship with each client. Like anything else, communication is at the core of our business, and our accessibility sees no limits. Client referrals are not only the backbone of our business, but also the highest compliment we are humbled to receive.
